Database Architect Manager

Contribute to business/technology strategy and influence decision making based on information gained from data analysis, application development; data warehouse, database Management. Establish standards for firm data storage and usage to ensure consistency in quality across projects and teams and identify relevant work processes. Partner with both internal and external resources to gather and examine data from disparate sources with the goal of discovering previously hidden insights, utilizing analytical skills and experience in data mining extremely large datasets. Serve as a resource for the identification of requirements and possible technical approach to the development of new analytics capabilities for the big data platform, relating to core subject-matter expertise. Design, Develop Database Model and objects based on the Business Requirement. Make business recommendations such as cost-benefit, forecasting, and experiment analysis with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information. Consult with key internal and external stakeholders to determine how best to leverage predictive modelling and advanced analytic methods to support business objectives. Apply innovative approaches to understand and predict what will happen to the business. Develop new practices and methodologies for working with the internal data technologies, often working closely with leading academics and industry experts. Provide guidance to application development team members on various aspects of technology and development best practices. Perform query and data mining for large data-sets to discover patterns, examine data and filter for targeted information using traditional/exploratory, as well as advanced analytic techniques. Utilize Microsoft data platform technologies such as Azure SQL Server, HD Insight, Data Factory, etc. Responsible for statistical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, or Python.

Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or in a related field.

Work Experience Requirement: 7 years of professional experience in Database Architecture or in a related field.

Specific Skills Requirement – must have professional experience in: 

  1. Multiple data sources including RDBMS, XML and Flat Files
  2. Microsoft SQL Server technologies including; SQL Server technologies including SSIS, SQL Database Replication and Reporting Services.
  3. Applying database performance tuning techniques
  4. Working in agile environment including database build and test automation
  5. Managing key scrum events: Planning, Grooming, Stand Up, Review, Retrospective
  6. Prioritizing several concurrent data integration projects across a portfolio of products.
